The annual Great Chishill Sloe Gin Competition took place on Thursday 24th February. This year there were 42 entries across 3 categories, all of which were sampled by the judges! This was followed on Saturday 26th by the Sampling Party, when everyone had the opportunity to try the entries themselves.
This year, thanks to the virus, things were a little different to the usual, with the event taking place in the Village Hall. Also, as a break from tradition there was a raffle, a sale of the table decorations, and an auction of the winning entries of the ‘Vintage’ category.
The whole event was run to raise funds for the Great Chishill Bell Restoration Project and more than £730 was raised. Full results:
