The Music Night held on July 16th at the Village Hall was a sold-out event that raised £1,495 for the St Swithun’s Appeal and the Great Chishill Windmill Trust, featuring performances from ‘1966 Reunited’ and other acts, and was deemed a great success by attendees and organisers alike.
The St Swithun’s church tower, which has a long history of structural issues due to dampness and past fires, is undergoing a repair project with a fundraising target of £50,000, and has recently secured a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £29,700 for initial investigative work, bringing the current total raised to £48,000.
